About Odat
The company Odat was founded in the year 2000 bij Luuc Mergler and Yvonne Verhoeff. After two years of training and consultancy, Odat specialized in culture.
After 10 years Luuc Merglers focus will be on travelling and back office work, while Yvonne Verhoeffs focus will be on clients contact.

Yvonne Verhoeff (1952) began her carrier as a teacher, learning the Dutch language to foreign children and teaching the teachers this skill as well. Subsequently she taught the Dutch language to adults coming from all over the world and she followed a study to become ‘trainer in communication- and leadershipskills’ at the Academy for Trainers in Amsterdam.
This opened the world of intercultural communication for her. She discovered the knowledge of the founder of intercultural insights Geert Hofstede, as well as Trompenaars and many others. |
She also joined the Society for Intercultural Education, Training and Research in which she plays an active role.
After10 years of training ‘leadership and motivation’ and 10 years of training intercultural communication, Yvonne Verhoeff now combines the two in a special personal coaching or group training for foreign managers working in the Netherlands: Leading the Dutch Successfully!

Ing. L. Mergler (1947) After his graduation in electrotechnics Luuc Mergler started his career at the department which was responsible for the efficiency of the production process at the Nederlandse Kabelfabriek N.V. in Delft. He followed a study for business management and became a specialist in optimizing the match between man and machine at the department Efficiency and Organisation. He continued his career at the municipality of Rotterdam as an organisation advisor. In that function he had the leadership of several transformation projects and became expert in the field of restructuring organisations. He discovered that the corporate culture is a strong factor to take into consideration to have success in changing organisations and motivating people. |
In 2000 he founded, together with Yvonne Verhoeff, their own company specialised in intercultural communication.
They are both members of SIETAR (Society for Intercultural Education, Training and Research).
